DIY: Valentine\’s Dog Toy

It\’s no secret DIY projects are my favorite and lately I have been making Jack plenty of toys including this no sew fleece heart toy (made just like the no sew tie blankets). It\’s a quick and easy project that your pup is sure to love!

No Sew Heart Dog Toy
• Fleece (depends on how big or small you want your heart)
• Fabric scissors
• Poly-Fil Stuffing
• Pen
• Heart stencil (or freehand)

Step 1: Stack two layers of fleece on a flat surface and trace a heart shape with a pen.
Step 2: Keeping the two layers stacked, cut a squareabout 2 or 3 inches around the outside of the heart (you want enough length to double tie your knots).
Step 3: Cut two slits on the edge of the heart (Jack\’s was about the width of my thumb.
Step 4: Tie a knot in the top and bottom pieces. Double knot it to make sure it\’s secure.
Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have 80% of the heart tied.
Step 6: With the small hole remaining fill the heart with the Poly-Fil or you can use your extra fleece as stuffing.
Step 7: Continue cutting and tying until the heart is completed.
Step 8: Trim the edges and start playing.

Always supervise your pet during playtime. This toy is not for rough chewing.

Copycat Godiva Fruit Skewer

I was recently walking around the mall and noticed Godiva had an amazing looking dark chocolate fruit skewer in the window. I recreated the treat this weekend and it was everything I had hoped for. All you need is strawberries, bananas, skewers and dark chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life 69% Cacao Dark Chocolate Morsels). The perfect treat for Valentine’s Day indulgence.

 {To keep the bananas from browning I soaked them in 7UP}

DIY: Heart Pillar Candle

When February arrives all I can think about is; hearts and varies shades of pink. I combined my love for both to create this simple heart pillar candle. All you need is candles (I bought them from the dollar store), heart shaped cookie cutters and a wick.

Step 1: Select the colors you\’ll be using.

Step 2: Place in a pot filled with water and allow to boil until wax melts.

Step 3: Pour into cookie cutter molds.

Step 4: Freeze to harden wax, and pop it out of the mold.

Step 5: Place a hole in the center of each heart (I used wire).

Step 6: Insert the wick into your first one and pour on some white wax.

Step 7: Continue to add wax to each heart and stack until you reach the top.

Step 8: Trim your wick, light and enjoy!
