My mum and I are opposites, she loves the Disney villains and I favor the princesses. She always said that every villain has a back story, and when the first Maleficent movie came out we quickly learned that every villain does indeed have an untold story. Maleficent returns to theaters this Friday, October 18 to bring you a new movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil, and provide us with more of the back story that Sleeping Beauty does not tell us. Disney’s Maleficent Mistress of Evil brings a dark twist to an already dark character, and I must admit I love it. Yes, the girl who is all fairy tale romance and love actually really enjoyed the dark side Disney has brought out with its latest movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil.

Disney Maleficent Mistress of Evil picks up a few years after we left Maleficent and Aurora in the woods together in the last movie. While Queen Aurora is ruling the Moors, life changes a bit when Prince Phillip proposes to her and a wedding is on the horizon. You can bet that Godmother Maleficent is not happy about this situation, and if you go back to the title of the movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil, you know you’re not about to get a sicky sweet story.

Remember those magical and adorable creatures of the Moors you fell in love with during the first Maleficent movie? Well, they are back with even bigger roles. The humans and the creatures of the Moors clash throughout the film, and there is even an evil plot to end these mythical creatures taking place in the background. Maleficent Mistress of Evil is definitely no fairy tale and is filled with a lot of dark themes throughout the entire movie. Disney filled this movie with more deaths than one can even count. In fact, Maleficent Mistress of Evil features a war between both worlds, and because of this Maleficent Mistress of Evil may hold the record for the most deaths in one Disney movie. So prepare yourselves for a war scene that is entirely too long.

While Maleficent Mistress of Evil may be filled with death and darkness, the end of the movie gives us the happily ever after that we always crave in a Disney movie. Well as happily ever after as it can be…. There are even hints at possibly another movie, which is exciting because I have come to love the evil villain that Maleficent is.

Disney has been bringing magic to us for years, and each movie that comes out is filled with even more magical components. Maleficent Mistress of Evil is no exception to this. The cinematography throughout the movie was absolutely amazing, and the CGI elements flowed brilliantly.

Maleficent Mistress of Evil soars into theaters Friday, October 18 and is one you don’t want to miss. Just remember this is a dark story, and if you want something that is light-hearted this is not the movie you want to see. While there are happy parts and some laughs, the overall theme is very dark. Maleficent Mistress of Evil perfectly builds on the last movie and does have an underlying message of loving everyone despite differences.

What’s popping? Did you know that my favorite family-owned popcorn company is celebrating 75 years? That’s right Grand Rapids Popcorn Company is celebrating 75 years in the business, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for them.

Grand Rapids Popcorn Company was founded by Roy and Rose Darling on Garfield Street on the west side of Grand Rapids in 1944. A true “Mom and Pop” operation, the pair sold corn kernels and popping supplies right out of their home. Roy and Rose built a loyal following around Grand Rapids.

In 1984, two of Roy and Rose’s nephews took over Grand Rapids Popcorn Company and the business began to rapidly expand. In addition to concession supplies, Grand Rapids Popcorn Company started to pop fresh popcorn. Grand Rapids Popcorn quickly outgrew its west side location, and the company broke ground on the current Grand Rapids Popcorn Company location 1991. Grand Rapids Popcorn was originally intended to be a wholesale business, but lucky for us the fresh popcorn became a hit.

Today, Grand Rapids Popcorn sells handmade popcorn, gifts, and supplies all over Michigan and beyond. Luckily, they wanted to make sure all of us popcorn lovers could get their delicious kernels and launched a website. Grand Rapids Popcorn Company remains family-owned and operated, with the third generation now working full time at the business. Grand Rapids Popcorn company prides themselves with outstanding service and personal connection to their customers.

Whether you’re looking for a gift for the hostess with the mostess, a treat for a friend, party favors or treats for home Grand Rapids Popcorn Company has everything you need.

Some of my favorite flavors include, Birthday Cake, S’mores, Butter Toffee Caramel with Pecans, Cherry Caramel Jubilee, Midwest Mix, and so many others.

Movie Review: The Addams Family

[this image was taken from Google]

They\’re creepy and they\’re kooky, mysterious and spooky – they\’re all together ooky The Addams Family has been entertaining us since 1938. Get ready to snap your fingers, the first family of Halloween, The Addams Family is back on the big screen. That\’s right, this Friday, October 11 you can catch the whole gang in their first animated comedy. The Addams Family animated movie is funny, cute, witty and of course iconic.

The Addams Family features the whole gang you have come to love voiced by some Hollywood powerhouses.

Morticia Addams is voiced by Charlize Theron
Gomez Addams is voiced by Oscar Isaac
Wednesday Addams is voiced by Chloe Grace Moretz
Pugsley Addams is voiced by Finn Wolfhard
Uncle Fester is voiced by Nick Kroll
It is voiced by Snoop Dogg
Grandma is voiced by Bette Midler

Wednesday, I had the opportunity to check out the new animated film The Addams Family, and i\’m here today to give you a full review.

The Addams Family animated movie hitting theaters this Friday, allows you to meet the Addams Family, and begins with people not accepting them which results in Addams having to leave their city and head to a new one. Of course, The Addams Family begins with Fester messing around on the piano to different tunes, and then he breaks out into the iconic song we have all come to love. The audience was snapping their fingers, and getting into the song. Really, how can you not snap your fingers? Even if you never watched the television series or saw one of the movies that came out, you\’ve definitely heard the iconic song a time or two.  In this animated version of The Addams Family, Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday and Pugley are preparing for a visit from their creepy relatives. However, trouble soon arises when a town is built below them and the fog begins to lift. The Addams Family is definitely written for 2019, because the trouble that arises is when shady TV home design personality Margaux Needler realizes that Addams\’ eerie hilltop mansion is standing in the way of her dream to sell all the houses in the neighborhood she has created. Margaux is the evil villain in the Addams Family, and of course turns the towns people against the Addams Family. However, soon they all see that the Addams Family is just like them and they\’re not evil monsters, and the neighborhood is redefined – which gives you that feel good moment in movies that we all crave.

The Addams Family, comes out just in time for Halloween and is one movie you do not want to miss. So get a witches shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on, we\’re gonna pay a call on The Addams Family this Friday, October 11 when the first family of Halloween comes to a theater near you.
