Five Things

Happy Friday, and welcome to the end of week 25 of quarantine. Gyms opened up this week, while movie theaters remain closed. I am working on spending time enjoying the little things. Like sunsets up north, picking wildflowers with my mum and indulging in delicious treats. Stay tuned next week to get all the details on my glamping trip!

Metro Detroit U-Pick Wildflower Farm

Brighten up your home with a trip out to the country for some hand-picked flowers from Vanhoutte Farms. This past weekend my mum and I headed out to Vanhoutte Farms to pick some wildflowers. The farm featured everything from gorgeous sunflowers to zinnias, asters, cosmos, snapdragons, marigolds, and more.
No matter what your age is, you\’re sure to fall in love with this stunning u-pick farm. When we arrived at the farm, we went to check-in (this is so they know who is on the farm) and get our clippers. We each got a mason jar to fill with flowers that we picked in the u-pick wildflower field. We both had so much fun creating the perfect bouquet of wildflowers.

If you\’re looking for something fun to do, I highly recommend heading to Vanhoutte Farms to pick some gorgeous wildflowers. Vanhoutte Farms is a family-owned farm and is located at 69475 Romeo Plank Road in Armada, Michigan. The farm offers an enchanting experience that won\’t disappoint. They even have a morning glory teepee that should be blooming soon and I cannot wait to see it.

Pro Tip: For those that are local I 1000% recommend Vanhoutte Farms over Westview Orchard when it comes to sunflowers. My mum spent nearly $100 for her and I to pick sunflowers at Westview. When we arrived the sunflowers weren\’t even to my waist (and I am 4\’10\”), not to mention there were hardly any flowers. Vanhoutte, on the other hand, charged $12 for a mason jar that you can fill with sunflowers and wildflowers. Vanhoutte Farm also sold large sunflowers for $3 each.

If you are looking to visit a sunflower farm or get lost in wildflowers, I highly recommend Vanhoutte Farms. Not only are they polite and caring, but the farm is also gorgeous and is the real deal.

Have you found your way to a wildflower or sunflower farm this year? If not, what are you waiting for? Get out there and support your local family-owned wildflower or sunflower farm.

Cute Finds at this Farm Fresh Honest Shop

2020 has been one of those years where a curveball seems to be thrown around every corner. The year is nothing that any of us expected. Instead of wallowing, I have decided to make the most out of the year, and am learning to love the little things.

I am a big supporter of local farms and have always found myself going to the same ones that my family has gone to for generations. That is until this year. This year I have have made it a priority to discover other farms. One of my friends recently posted about a family-owned farm that specializes in flowers, and you know I had to go.

Let me introduce you to Stella Farm\’s adorable Shue Shed

My visit to the Shue Shed
This past weekend, Jack and I went on an adventure out to the Shue Shed and it\’s even cuter in person. The tiny honest shop featured fresh eggs, tomatoes, and the most gorgeous bouquets. Good thing there were only two to select from when I arrived because I had a hard enough time deciding between the two.

If you live locally, I highly recommend visiting the Shue Shed when it is open and supporting a local farmher!

Digital Marketing 101

this is a sponsored post

Marketing has always been about connecting with your audience in the right place, at the right time. Today, that means you need to meet them where you know they\’re already spending time – the internet. This is where digital marketing comes into play. Today we will be going over the key elements of digital marketing, starting with what it is.
What is digital marketing?
Digital marketing is the use of the internet to market your products or services. Digital marketing campaigns may include but are not limited to email, social media, website, landing pages and search engines. Each of these tools works to engage with current and future customers.
What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization?
SEO is the process of optimizing your website to \”rank\” higher on search engine results pages, which will increase the amount of organic (or free) traffic that a website receives. Websites, blogs and infographics benefit the most from SEO.

On-page SEO
On-page SEO focuses on all of the content that exists \”on the page\” when looking at a website. By doing keyword research you can see what your users are searching for and answer the questions for the reader.

Off-page SEO
Off-page SEO focuses on all the activity that takes place \”off the page: when looking to optimize your website. Think inbound links (backlinks) – the number of publishers that link to you, and the relative authority of said publishers will affect how highly you rank for the keywords you care about. Writing guest posts and networking is a great way to increase your off-page SEO.

How is content marketing beneficial?
Content marketing allows you to attract website visitors through engaging published information that answers their questions as well as provides value. Great content marketing includes blog articles, videos, social media posts, webpages, eBooks, and more.
What can social media do for me?
Social media sites allow you to share content as well as build a community of followers. Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and YouTube are all valuable lead generation tools. Use social media to drive leads to your website through engaging content (videos, images, and written posts).
How can I benefit from PCC (pay-per-click)?
PPC is a method of advertising that displays ads on a search engine results page. For instance, Google PPC ads are based on targeted keywords. When you place targeted ads in front of consumers via search engines or social media it will generate leads to your website.

How can I use lead generation to my advantage?
The use of SEO, advertising, and social media to attract visitors to your site is great, you just need to make sure you are bringing them to a form or landing page on your site that gives them in an offer to sign up for. In exchange for that offer, they have to give you their contact information. This is a way to build your email list so you can make sure you\’re staying in contact with those that visit your website.

Why is knowing analytics important?
Without analytics, you do not know if your processes work or do not work. The use of metrics and data will determine whether or not your digital marketing efforts are successful in meeting your ROI goals. Tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console will allow you to view data and make informed decisions on your digital marketing strategy.
If this sounds like a lot of work to you, it is. But, you\’re not in this alone. Companies like Exults  Marketing can help with getting to where you need to be with your digital marketing techniques.

Five Things

With a blink of an eye, September has arrived. On Tuesday I shared 30 things to do in September, and all of the ideas can be done at a safe social distance from others. Week 24 of quarantine has concluded, and with us entering September I am so excited to see what fall brings. This year may be nothing like I had planned, but it\’s everything I needed.

This year I booked my very first Airbnb trip. You see, I am typically a hotel girl, but with COVID-19 creating a pandemic I haven\’t felt safe in a hotel and thought I would give an Airbnb a try. Since this year is like no other, I planned a glamping trip, and let me tell you spending a few days hanging out on the 45th parallel was just what I needed. Here is a peek at my week, stay tuned next week for the 411 on my amazing trip north – including the details on the cute retro glamper I stayed in.

{Discovered gorgeous trails}

{got a super cute new bracelet, that gave me all the adventure vibes}

{I just couldn\’t resist this level of cuteness}
