DIY: Team Spirit Bauble

Football season is here and there is no better way to kickoff a chic outfit for your next tailgate or game then with a team spirit bauble.

You will need:
 • wooden balls with holes
 • paint
 • paint brush
 • pearls
 • bead stringing wire
 • clasp (lobster claw)
 • jump rings (2)
 • crimp beads
 • crimping tool (optional)

 1. Paint your beads with your desired colors. I have five coats on the yellow and three on the blue.

 2. Decide on your necklace design.

3. Add the color bead you want in the middle of your necklace first and then start adding the same color of beads of pearls to each side. Be sure to finish off with a pearl on each end.

 4. Add a crimp bead to the necklace. Crimp using a crimping tool or pliers.

5. Add another crimp bead and a jump ring to the string. Place the string through the crimp ring and lock crimp into place.

6. Open a jump ring like the picture above moving one tool away from you and one towards you. Attach to the clasp and close. repeat step five with the clasp.

Let\’s Decorate

{I love ruffles and bows so naturally you will find theme throughout my apartment}

Some things come naturally to certain people: cooking, painting, decorating a room. For the rest of us, it takes education with a bit of trial and error. Whether you are updating a room or decorating your entire house, there are a few things I have learned about interior design that can help create a fabulous space. Do you have any design tips you\’d like to share?

Personalize your space.
Your home (or room) should reflect who you are. Aim for pieces that compliment your personal clothing style. Making the best place to begin…your closet. What colors are you drawn to? Do you prefer modern or vintage? Are you a fan of lace and ruffles or clean cuts? Use your taste in clothing as a style guide for your home.

Home sweet home
When I think of “home sweet home” the first word that comes to mind is cozy, so create a space that is inviting and comfortable for you and your guests. As an added tip I liked to have candles going and blankets draped over the couch and chairs to help create the cozy feeling when guests are over.

Zucchini Pancakes

At the end of summer my mums garden tends to be taken over by zucchini. Since you can only make so many loaves of zucchini bread. I switch it up with zucchini pancakes, they are the perfect addition to any meal or great when eaten alone.
Zucchini Pancakes
Ingredients
2 eggs; beaten
1/3 cup Bisquick
¼ cup parmesan cheese (green can)
2 cups zucchini (shredded)

Directions
1. Beat the eggs, Bisquick and cheese together. Add the zucchini just before you are ready to fry (otherwise your mixture will become watery).
2. Spray a frying pan with cooking spray and drop the zucchini mixture by the spoonful. Be sure to flatten it out a bit.
3. Cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
Serve with butter, salt and pepper or plain.

Statewide Singalong

Michigan is so much more than just Detroit. Take a peek at 50 cities from my home state.

cool state fact:
• No matter where you are in the state you are no more than six miles from water.
