This has been one chaotic week that I never thought would end. One perk of the week was yesterday I had the opportunity to catch up with an old friend that I haven\’t talked to in a few years. However I am glad that it\’s finally the weekend even though mine will be a little chaotic, I do have a craft night planned with a couple friends.  What are your weekend plans?

DIY: Scarf Holder

Prior to college I owned one scarf for the purpose of keeping me warm. When I was in college my collection started to grow. Scarves easily became my favorite accessory and not just something to keep me warm during Michigan winters.  Obviously in college space is limited, so my mum came up with this scarf holder for me. Simple, inexpensive and a must-have for any scarf enthusiast.

must be wood or the hanger will bend
{place your scarf through the shower curtain ring and attach to the hanger}
you can also attach all the rings to the hanger and then insert the scarf

Accent Pieces

My current couch is a light cream, and since I live in an apartment the space is limited. When it comes to adding accents to a room (such as the living room) it’s nearly impossible. Surely that doesn’t stop me from dreaming up what pop of color I would add to the room. Currently I love bold bursts of colors in the form of chairs and pillows.

Gourmet Caramel Apples

I think caramel apples are one of those things that you simply cannot pass up when fall arrives (especially after a trip to the apple orchard). The concept is simple: dunk an apple into caramel, decorate and you’re done. I used this recipe for the caramel, alternatively you could use the little ones that come already packaged and just melt them down.
 {dunk each apple into boiling water for 20 seconds and dry with a paper towel}
this insures that the caramel stays on the apples

Game Night

  { I rely on classic board games from my grandparents basement}
This weekend the weather took a drastic dip down into the 30’s and 40’s. While it seemed more like winters arrival then falls, it created just the right opportunity for an impromptu game night with a couple friends. Instead of dressing up like I usually do, I kept the look simple. A messy bun, ballet pink lips, jeans and a comfortable sweater.
