{World Series Bound}
There is no better way to end a week than with the Tigers sweeping the Yankees, and putting us into the World Series. My voice is completely shot now, and will probably continue especially after the Michigan/Michigan State game on Saturday. What are your weekend plans?

Autumn Leaf Sugar Cookies

When fall arrives, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is my favorite place to be for a picturesque color display. After a recent tunnel of trees color tour I became inspired to incorporate the colors I had seen, and decided to create some leaves of my own in the form of sugar cookies.  Make up a batch of your favorite sugar cookies, frost them, and allow the cookies to harden over night. Using edible color markers draw veins onto the leaves; allow 30 minutes to dry. Spray leaves with Wilton Color Mist -yellow followed by orange and lastly red.(I bought the edible markers and color mist at Michaels)

DIY: Monogrammed Pumpkin

When it comes to monograms I follow the same rule as Reese Witherspoon “….if it’s not moving-monogram it!”. On a recent trip to Michaels I spotted their faux pumpkins for half off. While Pinterest was full of faux pumpkin ideas featuring glitter, polka dots and lots of paint, my approach was different. I decided to carve my monogram into the pumpkin, creating a perfect statement piece for the balcony or end table.

Caramel Wrapped Chocolate Pretzels

I would take homemade desserts over store bought ones any day. Even if baking is not your calling there are simple treats you can make, that will definitely impress friends and family. Caramel wrapped chocolate pretzels have always been one of my favorite treats to make for different holidays and seasons. They are the perfect combination of sweet and salty. All you do is wrap pretzel rods with caramel, dip into melted chocolate and decorate with sprinkles.

When it comes to monogramming what was once reserved strictly for hand towels in the guest bath has now transformed into a way to personalize practically anything. The classic three-letter monogram is a charming southern tradition that is slowly catching on in the north.
