December Bucket List

The holidays come and go so quickly. In an effort to savor them I came up with a list of things I would like to do this month. What\’s on your list?

Turkey Trot Recap

On Thanksgiving my BFF and I ran our first Turkey Trot, which also happened to be our first 10k. The experience was absolutely amazing. The race took place in downtown Detroit and went through the America’s Thanksgiving Day parade route, making it such a fun environment.

What I learned:
• Running in a tutu is the worst idea ever – it was constantly between my legs
• Athleta makes the BEST workout pants ever
• Turtle Gloves are amazing and a must for any runner
• Bring your own water
• Don’t take it so seriously – stop and take pictures
• I need a knee brace
• Good shoes are a must

Gifts for the Workout Enthusiast

As someone who runs a race a month and works out six days a week I had so much fun creating this gift list. Here are some of my favorite items for the workout enthusiast.

Pie Time

Pies hold a special place in my heart. When I lived in Pittsburgh my neighbor taught me her secret recipes for peanut butter, coconut cream and chocolate pie. With everything I have going on this year, I simply do not have the time to make my own pies, so I’m relying on Achatz Pies. For the past few weeks I have been test tasting there pies and I decided on three I’ll be bringing to my families Thanksgiving: Michigan 4 Berry, Cherry and French Silk. What’s your favorite pie?
