Kroger Prep+Pared: Stuffed Poblano Peppers

this is a sponsored post, all thoughts and opinions are my own

If you’ve been following along for a while, you know my boyfriend and I enjoy spending time in the kitchen together. We couldn’t decide what to make for dinner the other night, so we headed to Kroger to figure out what we wanted.  Of course we ended up leaving with a Kroger Prep+Pared Meal Kit. Seriously, our addiction to these kits is real. When it comes to deciding on a kit both of us have rules he doesn’t like salmon and I don’t like pasta, therefore most anything else goes. This week we decided to give a vegetarian Prep+Pared Meal Kit a try and went with the Stuffed Poblano Peppers. What a great choice, these bad boys were packed with flavor and definitely kept us full for hours. Current Meal Kits. Have you tried a Kroger Prep+Pared Meal Kit yet?

Kroger Prep+Pared Meal Kits we have tried: Vietnamese-Inspired Spicy Lemongrass Pork

Restaurant Review: North 42

There are a few restaurants along Lake St. Clair that you can get to by boat; North 42 at MacRay Harbor is one of them. North 42 is the spot my boyfriend picked for us to take the boat to dinner this weekend. Since we were in the water right before getting to the restaurant we decided to eat outside in the pool area that overlooks Lake St. Clair. New to the menu was the Hacienda Salad which featured grilled seasoned chicken, house salsa fresca, aged cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, tortilla strips, chopped romaine, iceberg and baby greens that are served with a Mexican ranch dressing. I was left feeling underwhelmed with this salad, the flavor just wasn’t there. My boyfriend ordered the Pale Ale Fish and Chips featuring Icelandic cod bathed in Bell’s Two Hearted – battered and deep fried with French fries, house coleslaw and remoulade. Hands down he had the better meal, and we both agreed that it was probably one of the best fish and chips meals that we have ever had. If you head over to North 42 by boat or car I highly recommend giving the Pale Ale Fish and Chips a try.

Kroger Prep+Pared: Vietnamese-Inspired Spicy Lemongrass Pork

My boyfriend and I enjoy cooking dinner together, however we both have busy schedules and sometimes there is limited time to prepare dinner with eachother– which results in us not eating together. Kroger Prep+Pared Meal Kitsare the perfect solution for us, we can either go to the grocery store together or one of us stops and picks up the meal kit. Each meal kit is designed to provide two generous portions of food, and usually we have leftovers. This week we wanted to spice up our lives a little bit and went with the Vietnamese-Inspired Spicy Lemongrass Pork. Let me just say, hello flavor explosion – this is one of my favorite Prep+Pared Meal Kits that we have bought. Kroger seriously impresses me with their kits, and if you haven’t tried one I highly recommend heading to your local Kroger store immediately. Stay tuned to see what kit we get next week! Current meal kits available.

Lake St. Clair Sunset

This weekend my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go out on his boat, and I asked if we could stay out for sunset, he agreed. We headed out onto Lake St. Clair, with a goal of getting me in the water and feeling secure in a life jacket, dinner and of course the sunset (Hallmark worthy, right… I know). This wasn’t like one of our regular dates; this one meant a little bit more. You see I am dating a fish, and while I would love to be a mermaid that just isn’t the reality of it. I don’t know how to swim, and I wasn’t comfortable just hanging out in wavy water with a lifejacket on. You know what though, I did it. Sure it took me forever to get up the courage to walk down the ladder and finally let go having to put all my trust in my boyfriend. I got into water that was wavy, that’s right it wasn’t calm it was wavy and I still did it. When we got out of the water we headed to dinner. Up until doing it with my boyfriend, I had never taken a boat to dinner and it’s a lot of fun. There’s just something different about hopping in the boat heading to dinner and over looking the water while eating. Once we finished dinner we headed back out onto Lake St. Clair to catch the sunset, the sky was looking a tad bit pathetic, but then it changed and everything went orange. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
