My boyfriend and I enjoy cooking dinner together, however we both have busy schedules and sometimes there is limited time to prepare dinner with eachother– which results in us not eating together. Kroger Prep+Pared Meal Kitsare the perfect solution for us, we can either go to the grocery store together or one of us stops and picks up the meal kit. Each meal kit is designed to provide two generous portions of food, and usually we have leftovers. This week we wanted to spice up our lives a little bit and went with the Vietnamese-Inspired Spicy Lemongrass Pork. Let me just say, hello flavor explosion – this is one of my favorite Prep+Pared Meal Kits that we have bought. Lake St. Clair Sunset

This weekend my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go out on his boat, and I asked if we could stay out for sunset, he agreed. We headed out onto Lake St. Clair, with a goal of getting me in the water and feeling secure in a life jacket, dinner and of course the sunset (Hallmark worthy, right… I know). This wasn’t like one of our regular dates; this one meant a little bit more. You see I am dating a fish, and while I would love to be a mermaid that just isn’t the reality of it. I don’t know how to swim, and I wasn’t comfortable just hanging out in wavy water with a lifejacket on. You know what though, I did it. Sure it took me forever to get up the courage to walk down the ladder and finally let go having to put all my trust in my boyfriend. I got into water that was wavy, that’s right it wasn’t calm it was wavy and I still did it. When we got out of the water we headed to dinner. Up until doing it with my boyfriend, I had never taken a boat to dinner and it’s a lot of fun. There’s just something different about hopping in the boat heading to dinner and over looking the water while eating. Once we finished dinner we headed back out onto Lake St. Clair to catch the sunset, the sky was looking a tad bit pathetic, but then it changed and everything went orange. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.

 went to a Made in Michigan event at Kroger and discovered Marcia\’s Pickled Munchies and absolutely fell in love – best pickles ever.
 started to work harder on my body.
 got this super beyond adorable monogrammed raincoat c/o Perfectly Personal.
took my dad to go see Wicked – which is my favorite musical.

Chasing Shooting Stars

This weekend was the Perseids Meteor Shower, I kept tagging my boyfriend in notes about it on Facebook saying we should go check them out. He’s currently working on his Masters (#Goals), and has been incredibly busy trying to get his final exam finished. However, with everything going on he made it a point for us to drive out of the city and into the country to see the shooting stars. Neither of us thought this whole going to chase shooting stars thing through, as we packed NOTHING that would make this trip easier. Even though we were winging it, the trip turned out to be amazing. We did it Sunday night and stayed out until about 11:30 since both of us would have to work in the morning. That night was more than I could ask for; we saw some perfect shooting stars, including ones that left a trail in the sky. It was so nice to experience that with him especially since around this time last year we were Chasing the Northern Lights together. I love that he is willing and even likes doing these things with me, I couldn’t ask for a more amazing guy in my life. I can’t wait for our next moonlight adventure; hopefully it’ll involve a bonfire on the beach.
