I didn’t want the commitment of a subscription, I didn’t like the idea of not getting the freshest ingredients and lets face it they’re pretty pricey. I was feeling really frustrated, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out Kroger was launching meal kits. Kroger’sPrep+Pared Meal Kits, feature the same concept as the ones I mentioned above, however in my option they’re 1000 times better for so many reasons:

Kits are 100 percent measured and prepped.
Everything you need is included and perfectly measured (salt, pepper and oil are not included).
Chef designed recipes.
Recipes rotate monthly so you can always try something new.
Ingredients are NEVER frozen.
Cooks in 20 minutes or less.
Absolutely ZERO prep time! Everything is done for you.
Designed to feed two adults.
Kits start at $14 and go up from there.
Comes with an easy-to-follow recipe card.
No subscription, walk into your store and pick the kit you like.
Currently available in select Kroger stores, and on Kroger ClickList.
Kits are shipped to Kroger daily.

I had the pleasure of attending the Michigan launch of the Prep+Pared Meal Kits, and actually was able to cook one of the meals from the kits. Since Andrew and I have never had Shrimp Scampi (and are not confident cooking seafood), we thought the Shrimp Scampi with Lemon Garlic Fettuccini would be perfect for us to try. The ingredients in the box looked extremely fresh, and the recipe card was easy to follow. The meal cooked up really quickly, and the results were amazing. I love how convenient these kits are, and the fact that I can just stop on my way home from work to grab one and cook up a restaurant quality meal in under 20 minutes.
