Waterfalls, Chicken Wings, Lucille Ball and my disappointment with Louis Vuitton
On saturday I went to the mall, walked through Louis Vuitton and decided I just couldn\’t live without a bag……I decided on a Speedy.
The bag came like this! Completely smashed flat…. this really didn\’t thrill me. If I am spending $1,000 on a bag I do not want to receive it all smashed up.
This is what the bag should look like. I am not thrilled with the creases in it, and I also hate the fact that the smashing caused it to even peel!
That\’s when I read this \”made in U.S.A.\”…. yes I am from the USA and yes I do like to buy things that are made in the USA this is one thing I DO NOT want to be made in the USA. I want it to be made in Paris… as it is Louis Vuitton Paris. So I decided I would call corporate where I learned that if you buy a bag in the United States from a certified LV dealer the bag is real but it\’s not genuine. If you buy the bag say overseas it is made of leather, not smashed and made in Paris. Needless to say this bag is definitely being returned.

I can't believe it! I'd be returning the bag, too. And what a disappointment. Maybe this means you were just meant to have another big and better bag?? (if that's possible) 🙂

I had no idea that it would say \”made in usa,\” I would definitely return it too! That's insane! I'm glad you had an otherwise great trip…I used to watch I love Lucy reruns all the time. Have a great week.

I purchased my Louis in Rome so it was made in Paris-I would get so annoyed if mine said made in the USA! and all crushed like that? ugh so annoying! on the other hand, those wings look delicious!

I was actually in the Louis Vuitton store this weekend and asked to see the checkered speedy and the woman got it out of the drawer and didnt even un-smash it to show me what it looked like. She was like yep this is the speedy and I was like well can you make it not flat so I can actually try it out? I didn't even think about the made in USA thing though…that's really dissapointing and will be influencing my decision to buy one. ANd thanks for your sweet comment I was actually debating not putting that picture up because I thought I looked fat! I've lost about 8 pounds but still need about 12 to go. I've got a month until school starts so fingers crossed that I can do it!

I would be disappointed in the smushed LV too. It's beautiful though. I have a similar bag from Fendi in baby blue that my sister bought me. Love it 🙂

I would be too! The only LV I own I bought in Paris. It's a wallet (I'm on a teeny budget) but I love it.

WOW! I did not no that about LV! I got my several years ago and it says paris. I do fold mine up like that when traveling. I put so much stuff in it that the creases come out. Just get a gucci joy bag : )

That really sucks about the bag! You would expect that from a vendor of knock-off bags at the mall but not an actual Louis Vuitton store….are you able to return it?!

Niagara Falls is a beautiful place and pretty darn amazing. I haven't been there since I was a teenager but would love to go back.That is really disappointing about the LV. I have the Speedy 30 and got it for my 30th birthday a few years back. It was purchased from the LV store in Atlantic City. I think mine was smashed like that too and I wasn't very pleased. I guess I have to Paris to get it the right way. I do use mine all the time and love it. I also got it in the Damier Azur print when I was in Vegas. Next on my list is the Neverfull.

Looks like a great time. My daughter is a big Lucy fan!I would never spend a $1000 on one bag-with two kids in college-every dime counts-but I surely wouldn't want something like that to come all smashed!

Ow! Fun trip. Those seasoned chips look absolutely amazing. Bummer about the bag 😦 I've definitely ordered a number of items online and been disappointed when they showed up. Hope you're having a nice Monday!
