The half-moon manicure or \”The Ruffian\” has been spotted in prior runway shows, and it\’s definitely here to stay. As it is popping up all over the runway for the spring 2011 collection. So I thought I would do a little DIY since a lot of you are absolutely loving the look!
So my half-moon manicure may not be perfect, but it was my first try.
First I polished on a base coat, next two coats of You don\’t know Jacques by O.P.I. I waited for the polish to dry completely.
You\’ll need hole reinforcements to complete the look.
Next, I stuck on the stickers (pictured above). The stickers blocked out a small arch at the bottom of my nail bed. NOTE: I folded the stickers in half and only had sticky parts touching my skin or cuticle area. The stickers will pull your polish off if you aren\’t careful.
I polished Black Onyx by O.P.I. on top.
After Black Onyx dried I pulled off the hole reinforcements and polished a top coat onto my nails.
I think it turned out pretty fabulous! What are you thinking of my half-moon mani?

As you may or may not know I absolutely love headbands. I wear them six out of seven days of the week and coordinate them to my clothes. I have done this way before Gossip Girl even existed. I wish they would have Blair wear headbands in college… they\’re trendy for college. In honor of Gossip Girl season premier tonight here are some of my favorite handbands Blair has worn.

{The nails were painted with a basic clear base coat and then a gold foil was applied by rubbing it straight onto the nail. This gives a dipped gold metallic look.}

Here we have a half moon manicure that was featured on the Vena Cava runway. Butter London took a graphic spin on this look. The nails are polished in cafe au lait and at the bottom a half-moon of black.
{Botkier Ava metallic leather hobo $595}
{Marc by Marc Jacobs perfect purse mini cross body $278}
Any of these chain purses would look absolutely fabulous paired with O.P.I\’s Glitterland gold nail lacquer from the Swiss Collection.
Jessica Cosmetics has an absolutely fabulous new collection out for Fall 2010, and it\’s called MUSE. MUSE is all about rich tones that completely reflect the sophistication of fall fashion.
Intrigue is a smoky taupe and lavender creme. Absolutely gorgeous, and elegant! Taupes are all the rage, but I have yet to see one that has a smoky purple look. This is a definite must for fall!
Bittersweet is an elegant milk chocolate brown. This is a beautiful color for fall.
Victorian Crush is an army green hue. With military being all the rage this color is absolutely perfect and one of my favorite greens. It\’s not too dark, its not too rich and its not too olive. It\’s perfection in a bottle.
Majesty Blue is a deep metallic royal blue. It\’s extremely pretty and someone made a comment to me about it looking like a midnight sky. \”Blue My Mind\” by O.P.I. use to be my absolute favorite royal blue. This one has just won my heart completely.
Scarlet is a bright scarlet red creme and is more on the cool side. It\’s a daring color and as much as I am not a believer in reds I absolutely LOVE this red. Its actually very chic for fall.
Crimson Reflections is a burgundy wine mixture. It\’s a great alternative for people who don\’t particularly love reds. This one is gorgeous for fall, and doesn\’t scream red.
