Five Things

 {citrus inspired nails: Essie Movers & Shakers with a Zoya Arizona accent}
Pretty colors kept me inspired this week while the weather went from low 40\’s to high 80\’s and everything in between. A positive aspect of my week was when one of my elderly neighbors invited me over for dinner, and asked if I could bring the dessert. I went with my go-to confection; a simple pink party cake; lemon cake with raspberry filling topped with meringue buttercream and confetti sprinkles. Do you have a go- to dessert you like to make?

Must-Have Makeup Brushes

The proper tools are fundamental for any job, and makeup is no exception. For the right tools you can go as cheap or expensive as you like. Cheaper brushes do not feel as nice, and the bristles easily fall out, but they will achieve the same look. In my opinion, if you are going to splurge it should be on powder, blush and bronzer brushes.  I use BARE ESSENTIALS makeup brushes. What brand(s) do you use?

 Must-Have Makeup Brushes
• Powder brush
• Blush brush
• Bronzer brush
• Three eye shadow brushes
   • Blending brush (with big bristles)
   • Crease brush (small pointed brush)
   • Eye shadow brush (regular for application on lid)
• Eyeliner brush

Chiffon Fabric

let\’s go shopping: 1/2/3/4/5

This spring, it is not just about the bold and neon hues. But also the pretty pastels and barely there neutrals. I love chiffon inspired palettes and frequently find myself gravitating towards simple nudes and pretty peaches. What do you think about this color?

Individual (skinny) Monkey Bread

Monkey bread is a classic part of brunch in my family. My mum always made traditional monkey bread. While it always looked and tasted fabulous, it was definitely a mess. When I started to host brunches I wanted to keep the tradition of monkey bread alive, but without the mess. Thus, individual servings were created.

Individual Monkey Bread
Yields: 6
125 calories each; 4+pts
Ingredients
• 1 can reduced fat crescent rolls
• 1/4 cup lite maple syrup
• 2 teaspoons light butter
• 1 tablespoon + 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• cinnamon and sugar(I mixed splenda and granulated sugar) mixture for rolling bread balls in

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray 6 cups in a muffin/cupcake tin.
2. Open your can of crescent dough, and cut each triangle into 3 equal-sized pieces. Roll each piece of dough into equal size balls. You should get 24 balls per crescent roll can.
3. Toss the dough balls in the cinnamon and sugar mixture; until coated.
4. Add syrup and cinnamon to melted butter mixing until combined.
5. Place four balls into each indiviual muffin compartment, pour the butter mixture over each, until the dough balls are slightly covered.
6. Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until dough is cooked and the top becomes caramelized.
7. Remove from the oven, and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Use a knife around the edge of each monkey bread to loosen. Serve warm.

Springtime Dream

A springtime dream; pretty polish and fabulous flowers. I instantly fell in love with the Zoya summer collection; beach(featured above) and surf as soon as I saw it. Each of the colors reminded me of warmer days and luscious flowers from my parents backyard in Michigan. What do you think of this collection? Which color is your favorite?
