Tieks: Little Blue Sole

Have you heard of the shoe with the little blue sole? Tieks are the most versatile designer flat, they’re made of the finest Italian leathers and designed to fit in your purse, not to mention they form to your feet. You can learn more about the flats here.

This is my first pair of Tieks and I am already hooked (I may have ordered two more pairs!). They were a bit uncomfortable when I tried them on, however after about a week of wearing them I don’t want to own any other ballet flat again. They formed to my feet are are beyond comfortable

They’re customer service is OUT OF THIS WORLD. You get a personalized note from the Tieks Team thanking you for your purchase. How awesome is that!

They flats start out at $175 and go up from there. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Not only are they super cute, they’re comfortable and can easily be kept in your purse. They even give you a bag to put your heels in if you want to switch to your flats.

Baked Apples

While I was at Christmas Cove (an antique apple farm – more on that later), over the weekend one of the ladies gave me the idea of making baked apples. I couldn’t remember exactly what she said, so I did what I remembered and made up the rest. The finished product was absolutely delish.

Baked Apples
Ingredients
4 medium sized apples
2 tablespoons butter; cut into small pieces
1/4 cup brown sugar; packed
1/3 cup oats
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
dash of cloves
dash of nutmeg
apple cider or water

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Combine butter, brown sugar, oats, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in a bowl; mixing with a fork until crumbly.
3. Spoon out the center of the apples.
4. Fill apples evenly with the oat mixture.
5. Place apples  in a 8×8 dish.
6. Add about an inch of water or apple cider to the dish.
7. Cover lightly with foil
8. Bake 15 minutes covered, remove foil and bake another 10-20 minutes; or until apples are tender.
9. Enjoy :]
