DIY: Ombré Tote Bag

My parents recently brought me a gorgeous bouquet of peonies from their backyard the colors inspired me to create a striped ombré tote, that\’s become the perfect accessory at the farmers market. Just grab some painters tape (I love Frog Tape) and tape the bag into quarters. Paint in your desired colors, let dry and peel off the tape. Tote bags have never looked so chic.

Guacamole

I used to be scared of guacamole. Ordered all my Mexican food \”no guac or sour cream.\” Then about two weeks ago while out with a friend I forgot to ask for no guacamole, so I decided to try it. Seriously, I had never even taken a bite of it before or tried an avocado. With one bite my life changes and Mexican food reached all new heights for me. I actually asked the restaurant I was at for their recipe and they so kindly shared it. So here is Spanglish\’s recipe for Guacamole.

Spanglish Guacamole
Ingredients
3 ripe avocados
2 Roma tomaoes, diced
1 small red onion, diced
1 lime, juiced
1/4 cup cilantro, fresh

2. Add diced tomatoes, diced onion, lime juice, cilantro, salt and garlic.
3. Mix completely.
4. Cover and refrigerate for at leash one hour to combine flavors.
5. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy.

Herb Garden

I absolutely love fresh herbs and this weekend I hit up Home Depot to buy some favorites — basil, thyme, rosemary, mint and lemon balm. I planted them in a window box, which is the perfect and easiest way to grow herbs.

Pet Health: Bug Bites

The bugs here are ridiculous especially the mosquitoes and black flies. Jack has gotten bit a few times (see pictures below), and to save you from wasting money on a vet trip I have a fabulous tip for you. Get some Skin So Soft (I paid $10 for a large bottle) from Avon dilute it with water and place it in a spray bottle. Spray it all over your dog especially their belly and groan area (the most sensitive where the bugs bite) at least once a day and mosquitoes, black flies and other bugs will leave your furbaby alone.

{bite day two}

 {No bugs!}

In college one of my friends that lived upstairs found out that I was having a really rough week. Below you’ll find the fabulous recipe that you’ll quickly become addicted to.
