Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it.  He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command.

Cameron Mackintosh’s brilliant original production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA continues performances at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and in its recording-breaking run at the Majestic Theatre on Broadway and many other cities around the world.

Review: CHICAGO Musical

He had it coming! Did you know, CHICAGO is now the #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history! I saw the show on Tuesday, and it\’s showing no sign of slowing down. If you\’ve been following for awhile you know I love Broadway performances and have attended my fair share of them. CHICAGO was nothing like any I have seen before. This was my first time ever seeing CHICAGO on the stage, however I already had a love for the movie that came out in 2002 with Renee Zellweger. This performance definitely was not like the movie at all. Costumes never changed, the orchestra was on stage and they\’re seating acted as a prop, the only actual props ever used were chairs. You could tell that this show was an original musical, as performances have completely changed and evolved to a whole new level. If you want to see a classic great I highly recommend grabbing tickets to Chicago. If you\’re in the Detroit-area you can catch the show now through the 21st of October.

Restaurant Review: MATCH Eatery and Public House

i was gifted the opportunity to try MATCH in exchange for an honest review.

Dinner in Canada, on the water, how can you resist? MATCHEatery & Public House is one of our new favorite date locations. Located just across the blue water bridge, MATCH’s menu is jam packed with some amazing food. We’ve given dessert and poutine a try, now it’s time to talk about entrees.
Typically I won’t order a Caesar salad at a restaurant, one of my friends makes amazing homemade dressing and it’s hard for anyone else’s recipe to compare that is until now. The waitress said that their Caesar salad was like none we had ever tried before, so of course we had to order the Hail Caesar!

Hail Caesar! Features hearts of romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, roasted grape tomatoes, confit garlic and grana padano parmesan cheese, finished with a balsamic reduction and the king of croutons. Hands down this was the BEST Caesar salad I have EVER had. I highly recommend ordering it if you love Caesar salads!

Bacon Mac n’ Cheese Dog features a bacon wrapped Nathans dog with spicy catsup, topped with cheesy mac & cheese on a butter toasted bun. You guys, this was delicious!
Of course, when a restaurant has pizza you have to try it. We went with the So-Cal, because it sounded unique and if you’ve been following along for a while you know we like to step out of the box.
So-Cal Pizza features cheese sauce, spicy ground beef, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, fresh jalapenos, red onion, fresh grape tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, tortilla hay, sour cream and key lime. Definitely a delicious and unique flavor explosion, that you’ll want to try.
I am now ready to go back for another Hail Caesar!

By the way, the view is amazing!

Zoya Holiday 2018: Jubilee

When it comes to nail polish my favorite time of the year is when fall and holiday polishes are released. Zoya just released their 2018 holiday collection Jubilee that consist of 12 new polishes included 2 new PixieDusts and a special effect leopard topper.

Leigh is a warm peachy neutral.

Carson is a muted neutral pink cream.

Taryn is a fuchsia micro-iridescent shimmer with a touch of purple and blue undertone.

Maxine is red cream and is the perfect pop of color for Christmas.

  Allison is a ruby cream.

Now let’s talk about the Leopard Spots Topper. This polish is reminiscent of the crackle polish, but way cooler. It’s meant to go onto texture polish, which means you can use it on PixieDust. I cannot get enough of this topper and how much fun it is, definitely going to be my fall go-to as I cannot wait for the holidays to arrive.
Cookie is a gorgeous purple PixieDust with gold flecks.
Danica is a rich teal cream that will pair nicely with Juniper.
Kateri is a dark chocolate cream.

Thoughts on this collection: I really like the variety of colors and that it will transition perfectly from fall into the holidays. Of course you know I favor the darks, and usually hate the glitters and PixieDust – but not this time! I am in love with all the PixieDust shades – keep an eye on my Instagram to see which polishes I am wearing, and how I am pairing them with each other.

Travel Diaries: Dunes Waterfront Resort

For most of us, when it comes to travel a clean place to stay is critical and one with a lake view is even better. During our recent trip to Silver Lake Sand Dunes located in Mears, Michigan we stayed the night at the Dunes Waterfront Resort in the heart of Mears. While we visited during the last weekend of the season we were still able to do some fun things around town, as well as hit the dunes – which you can view here. Despite the rainy weather the view from our hotel room was absolutely gorgeous. Don’t forget to check out the Sand Castle Restaurant across the street for a delicious meal.
Amenities include:
Private beach with dock
Indoor heated pool and hot tub
