I caught an early screening of The Lost City starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum, and I loved it! The movie is full of great adventure, charm, laughter, escapism and Tatum’s booty—you’re welcome. The Lost City plays homage to old school adventure romance films and novel—i’m looking at you Fabio. Did I mention the chemistry between Bullock and Tatum is incredible?
The Lost City hits theaters this Friday, March 25th and it’s hands down my favorite movie that has come out not only this year, but favorite rom-com that’s come out in a really long time.
If you know me, you know I love a good rom-com. Throw romance, comedy and action into a blender, and you’ve got a movie that I want to see—The Lost City does just that. The Lost City has a solid pace and is just under two hours at one hour and 52 minutes. There’s unexpected moments of laughter and Brad Pitt even makes a hilarious cameo.
After losing her husband Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) kind of loses her way. She’s a middle-aged author who is primarily known for writing romance adventure novels that center around the fictional hero Dash who is played by cover model Alan (Channing Tatum). Loretta and Alan are on tour to promote the newest novel when Loretta is kidnapped by Abigail Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe), a awkward billionaire who believes the lost city in Loretta’s new book isn’t fake and that she knows where it is. Despite having no survival skills at all Alan sets off on a mission to rescue her. Also, no one messes with a girls bestie—and that’s the vibe we all could use in our lives.
The chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum in The Lost City is unreal and kind of reminds me of Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock in The Proposal. Their chemistry definitely makes the movie and speaks volumes to the quality actors they are. Tatum and Bullock go on an adventure that you wish you could be part of.
If you’re looking for a good laugh, romance, adventure and everything in between—I can’t recommend The Lost City enough! It’s definitely one of those movies you can watch over and over again.
Brilliant, but reclusive author Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock) has spent her career writing about exotic places in her popular romance-adventure novels featuring handsome cover model Alan (Channing Tatum), who has dedicated his life to embodying the hero character, “Dash.” While on tour promoting her new book with Alan, Loretta is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe) who hopes that she can lead him to the ancient lost city’s treasure from her latest story. Wanting to prove that he can be a hero in real life and not just on the pages of her books, Alan sets off to rescue her. Thrust into an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.
