My mum and I are opposites, she loves the Disney villains and I favor the princesses. She always said that every villain has a back story, and when the first Maleficent movie came out we quickly learned that every villain does indeed have an untold story. Maleficent returns to theaters this Friday, October 18 to bring you a new movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil, and provide us with more of the back story that Sleeping Beauty does not tell us. Disney’s Maleficent Mistress of Evil brings a dark twist to an already dark character, and I must admit I love it. Yes, the girl who is all fairy tale romance and love actually really enjoyed the dark side Disney has brought out with its latest movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil.

Disney Maleficent Mistress of Evil picks up a few years after we left Maleficent and Aurora in the woods together in the last movie. While Queen Aurora is ruling the Moors, life changes a bit when Prince Phillip proposes to her and a wedding is on the horizon. You can bet that Godmother Maleficent is not happy about this situation, and if you go back to the title of the movie Maleficent Mistress of Evil, you know you’re not about to get a sicky sweet story.

Remember those magical and adorable creatures of the Moors you fell in love with during the first Maleficent movie? Well, they are back with even bigger roles. The humans and the creatures of the Moors clash throughout the film, and there is even an evil plot to end these mythical creatures taking place in the background. Maleficent Mistress of Evil is definitely no fairy tale and is filled with a lot of dark themes throughout the entire movie. Disney filled this movie with more deaths than one can even count. In fact, Maleficent Mistress of Evil features a war between both worlds, and because of this Maleficent Mistress of Evil may hold the record for the most deaths in one Disney movie. So prepare yourselves for a war scene that is entirely too long.

While Maleficent Mistress of Evil may be filled with death and darkness, the end of the movie gives us the happily ever after that we always crave in a Disney movie. Well as happily ever after as it can be…. There are even hints at possibly another movie, which is exciting because I have come to love the evil villain that Maleficent is.

Disney has been bringing magic to us for years, and each movie that comes out is filled with even more magical components. Maleficent Mistress of Evil is no exception to this. The cinematography throughout the movie was absolutely amazing, and the CGI elements flowed brilliantly.

Maleficent Mistress of Evil soars into theaters Friday, October 18 and is one you don’t want to miss. Just remember this is a dark story, and if you want something that is light-hearted this is not the movie you want to see. While there are happy parts and some laughs, the overall theme is very dark. Maleficent Mistress of Evil perfectly builds on the last movie and does have an underlying message of loving everyone despite differences.
