15 Ways to Meet Guys That Don\’t Involve Dating Apps

When you\’re single and looking, there is nothing more frustrating than hearing \”your soulmate will come along when you least expect it!\” How long do you have to wait for the said soulmate to come along? Did he take a wrong turn? That boy better gets a map, because I sure am not Carmen SanDiego, and will get us even more lost than he is finding me. Have you ever questioned is that soulmate out on Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Plenty of Fish or Match.com? What if you want to actively look for someone, but you don\’t want to do it on a dating app? Don\’t worry ladies, I am sharing 15 ways to meet guys in real life, and that\’s right NONE of these places involve dating apps or a bar!

1. Ask your friends/co-workers/hairstylist to set you up
If you haven\’t tried this route yet it\’s a great start, and sometimes you just have to ask. You never know, one of your friends might be hiding Prince Charming. Hairstylist are a great source, they so see so many people, and just might have someone in mind for you. I actually went on a date with one of my stylists (who is also my BFF) client\’s a couple years ago. It obviously didn\’t work out, but it was a new experience and neither of us had to go on a dating app to meet each other.

2. Strike up a conversation at a bookstore
You never know who you might meet in the travel section 😉

3. Have a dog? Hang out at a dog park
Single dudes with dogs are always trying to settle, I mean you just don\’t get a dog if you want to be alone forever. Even taking your dog for a walk on a trail or through a local park is a great way to run into a guy.

4. Join a recreational league
Shared interest is a great way to find a potential date.

5. Trivia night
Who doesn\’t love a little competition?

6. Volunteer
It works in Hallmark movies, volunteering can work for you too. Most people sign up to volunteer alone, therefore not only are you doing something good you might just meet someone good for you.

7. Pick an interactive gym routine
Ladies, listen carefully. I have very important information for you. Take a class or get a membership somewhere more conducive to talking to strangers… hint…hint…rock climbing. Rock climbing gives you the opportunity to ask for advice on your form one a ripped dude, I mean seriously it\’s the perfect icebreaker. Trust me GO ROCK CLIMB on a Friday night, you\’re welcome in advance!

8. Travel
Anyone else in love with people and places they have never been before? Sign up for a tour the next time you travel. You never know who you might meet on your journey. One of my really close friends met her husband on a plane.
9. Career networking event
Networking events are designed to meet new people and offer the perfect way to easily slide into someone\’s DM.

10. Get his take on something at the grocery store
People have strong opinions on food, so this is an easy way for you to strike a conversation up and meet a guy.

11. Coyly slide into a cute stranger\’s DMs on Instagram
Don\’t start the conversation with \”you\’re hot\” – make it easy and comfortable, leave a comment on a story picture. This is like a dating app but without all the pressure.

12. Golf or Hunting Store
Seriously do you know how many eligible bachelors you’ll find? It\’s basically the guys equivalent to our love for Target.

13. Fun run, 5k, 10k, Marathon and more
Have you ever tried a color run or obstacle course? It’s a great way to meet a ton of new people. Especially at obstacle course races guys will always help you out!

14. Church
Probably one of the most forgotten places. Church is a great place to meet a guy, you both already go to the church and have your faith in common.
