Southeast Michigan Holiday Activity List

I am a firm believer in focusing on one holiday at a time; therefore for me Christmas officially begins after Thanksgiving. With so many things to do around the area, there is no place like Southeast Michigan for the holidays. Below, I’ve picked my 13 favorite Christmas events that will get you in the spirit of the season.

1.  Edsel and Eleanor Ford House – Grosse Pointe Shores
November 24 – January 7

2. Ice Skate at Campus Martius
November 18 – March 4
Super cute date night or night out with the family.

3. Detroit Markets
I am so beyond excited about these little markets and cannot wait to visit them soon.

4. Crossroads Village/Huckleberry Railroad
Select days in December
I have never visited before, but definitely on my list of somewhere I would like to go.

6. Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo – Royal Oak

Perfect for a family adventure or adorable date night.

7. Big Bright Light Show – Downtown Rochester
November 20 – January 7
Don\’t forget to check out all the super cute shops, head to Sanders for literally the BEST hot chocolate ever, and don\’t forget to go to Royal Park Hotels to see a life size gingerbread train.

8. Walk of Trees – Plymouth
November 24 – January 1
Just learned about this – definitely on my list of places to check out.

9. Greenfield Village Holiday Nights
Select days in December
Offers an old time Christmas experience.

10. Nite Lights at Michigan International Speedway – Brooklyn
$20 per car
Brand new, and on my list to check out.

12. Checkout the lights along Lake Shore Drive – Grosse Point Shores

13. Go for a horse drawn carriage or sleigh ride
Detroit and Rochester have horse drawn carriage rides and White Horse Inn has a horse drawn sleigh ride.
