Words of Wisdom

This morning I am scheduled to have at least one of my wisdom teeth removed, however it could end up being all four of them. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well, and I do not end up resembling a puffy cheeked critter.  I have a pile of all of my favorite romantic comedies (i.e. Just Like Heaven, Sweet Home Alabama and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) and a freezer full of popsicles that will be awaiting my return.  Have you had your wisdom teeth removed?

  1. Good Luck!! I had them all out a few years ago and also another dental surgery (frenectomy of the lip) at the same time so it was pretty traumatic for me. One a positive note, the frenectomy was the worst part of the two. Once the first day or so went by, it was smooth sailing. I'll be thinking of you and hoping for an easy recovery!! Best Wishes!

  2. I had all of mine removed at the same times and it wasn't bad at all! I was a little loopy at first from the stuff they use to knock you out, but the rest of the day I felt fine. The only problem I had was 24 hours exactly after my appointment I passed out in the hallway – apparently it happens a lot because that's when all the medicine finally starts to leave your system.Good Luck!

  3. All of mine were removed at once. It was hard the first day but I managed. After about two days I got dry sockets and that was more painful that anything! Best of luck to ya!

  4. Good luck! I had mine removed years ago and I was down for about 3 days. The anethesia made me cry as I was leaving the office too. It wasn't horrible, but I\”m a real wuss about the dentist and mouth pain.

  5. I have, I think I slept for 3 days straight. Best of luck! All I remember is waking up and eating mashed potatoes to take my painkillers and going back to sleep.

  6. I had 3 of mine out, my 4th never came in. I will just be honest and say that my experience was horrible but looking back, it was worth going through the pain for a few days instead of feeling it daily! My teeth hurt so bad before so that helped me get through the recovery!

  7. I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 4 months pregnant with my last child….OUCH!! They couldn't put me under because of me being pregnant, so all four were removed with just a local (shots). Good luck to you today, and I hope all goes well for you. It sound like you have yourself prepared for the after party…..

  10. I hope it all goes well for you! I still have all four of my wisdom teeth, and though they hurt a bit coming in, they haven't had to be removed yet. Fingers crossed that stays true, since I am a major pain wimp!
