Five Things

 {Look both ways before you cross a train track}
 Last Friday I skipped town and took the Amtrak to New Orleans. Saturday at 10 am we were in Yazoo, Mississippi when the train hit a truck. Honestly the only reason I knew we hit someone was the big puff of smoke and smell of gas (I was in the front car). Everyone on the train was fine- of course the driver of the truck was killed instantly. Aside from the train wreck my trip has been filled with plenty of po-boys, beignets and pralines.

  1. I've had New Orleans on my to-go list forever! I've traveled all over the world but I've YET to go there. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Bet you are having a blast 🙂

  2. Oh my goodness, that is crazy! What a weird experience!I was lucky enough to work in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. We worked on homes during the day, then went down to the abandoned French Quarter in the evenings. It was crazy because everything was open, but there were no people. I still have cravings for beignets from Cafe Du Monde!

  4. Oh no, how scary that is. I've never understood trains hitting cars or trucks. How do you not see a big train headed your way? Glad you got there safely.
