Homemade Apple Sauce

One of the many things that I love about Michigan is being able to go and pick apples. Come fall time every year my mum and I go out to our favorite apple orchard and pick apples. Then comes the caramel apples, apple pie…etc. My mum always makes my dad apple sauce every year with the fresh apples. This year I actually paid attention to how she makes it, and it\’s so easy I just had to share it with you!

Mum\’s Homemade Apple Sauce
Ingredients
5 apples; diced
1/2 c. fresh apple cider (if you dont have cider you can use water)
1/4 c. sugar
few dashes of cinnamon
Directions
Over medium heat simmer the apples in the cider or water with the lid on until they can be smashed with a fork. Just before you smash the apples stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Remove from the heat and smash your apples until they are the consistency that you\’d like. Serve cold.
