I just Love That!

When it comes to Christmas shopping my goal has always been to be almost done by the time Christmas items start taking over the stores. Between shopping online and in stores I have found multiple items that I have just fallen in love with and I had to share them with you!
What are you wanting this year for Christmas?
As a spur of the moment idea the roomie and I are headed to Baltimore for the weekend. If you have any attraction or restaurant suggestions please let me know!

Trend Watch: Planet of the Cape

Every year at about the time the leaves start to change and fall off the trees and the weather cools off we tend to gravitate towards something to keep us warm through the colds months. This season it seems as though medieval and 70\’s capes and ponchos are all the rage.

Celebrities have been spotted all over embracing this autumns trend. But honestly what do you think of the cape?

So what are your thoughts on the cape trend?
Personally I dislike it… I also dislike snuggies :]

Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies

When I moved from Michigan to Pennsylvania and attempted to make chocolate chip cookies for my dad they came out flat and dry. Due to the elevation difference I had to come up with a new chocolate chip cookie recipe. I wanted the recipe to be one that would work in any climate, oven and elevation. It would be a no fail chocolate chip cookie. Well I finally have come up with that cookie, and in honor of my daddy\’s birthday today – Happy Birthday Daddy! I am sharing with you my never fail chocolate chip cookie recipe! Happy Baking!

Never Fail Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
• 2 sticks butter, at room temperature
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 3/4 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
• 12 oz. semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
• Heat oven to 325 degrees.
• With your mixer on medium-high, beat the butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla for about 3 minutes. Add the egg and beat until combined.
• In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda. Reduce the mixer to low and slowly add the flour mixture to the egg mixture until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips, and add nuts if desired.
Bake for 7 1/2 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges.

Let\’s Talk Makeup on a Budget

With a poor economy many of us cannot afford to buy high end makeup. As a result I have received numerous emails and comments about makeup on a budget. So I hit up Ulta with $50 to buy foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, blush and bronzer.

Let\’s Talk Foundation
I don\’t know about you, but my skin is important to me and I want to treat it right. I think one should never use liquid foundation.
My favorite foundation is bareMinerals Original($26) or Matte($28) SPF 15. You can get a foundation that matches exactly with your skintone – not to mention the large jar will last you at least three months.

Let\’s say you buy the Matte foundation, and it last you three months which is 93 days. This means the foundation is only costing you 30 cents per day to use!

When I use mascara I love serious volume. Great Lash BIG Mascara gave me all the volume I wanted for only $4.99!

For only $4.99 you can get three shades of blush which includes bronze for highlighting.

For only $4.00 you can get four gorgeous eyeshadow shades that actually stay on and look good!

For under $50 you can buy foundation, mascara, blush and eyeshadow! What a steal!
*you can buy cheaper foundation.
Foundation is one thing personally I would not buy a cheap version of.*

TGIF! What are you up to this weekend? This week I started to work on spiderweb themed cookies for Halloween so I will be finishing those off this weekend. With the chilly weather I have been burning some of the most amazing scented candles. Enjoy your weekend dolls!
