Ingredients for a Splendid Spring

Today is the first day of spring, and despite the fact that Michigan did not get the memo spring is still my favorite season. From the fresh fruit and blooming flowers to the gorgeous sunsets and warmer weather.  I decided that I would share my ingredients for an ideal spring. Here is my recipe for a Splendid Spring…
a handful of peonies, tulips and daffodils
1 cup of updos
½ cup of walks in the evening
¼ cup lash
3 tablespoons sundresses
1 teaspoon scalloped shorts
a pound of  fresh fruits from the farmers market
A pinch of pastels
3 sticks lipgloss
a dash of floppy hats
a splash of pedicures

Instructions: Mix all ingredients together over the next three months and enjoy!

How to: Create a Pet Friendly Easter Basket

Easter season has arrived, and while Easter can prove to be a dangerous holiday for pets from the chocolate eggs to the Easter grasses it doesn’t mean your pets need to miss out on the holiday. Create your furbaby his or her, own Easter basket. Below are my tips for creating the perfect pet friendly basket.

 {dental bones are always great for keeping your pets teeth healthy and clean}
 {stack the bags of treats on top of each other they\’ll be used as \”filler\” in the basket}

Easter Basket 101

Easter is just around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about what to fill Easter baskets with for your loved ones. Below are some of my go-to tips when creating an Easter basket as well as ideas for the girly girl and creating a theme basket.

Mini Birds Nest

Looking for a cute and simple Easter or spring treat to make? Then look no further! These adorable nests are made of round pretzels, topped with a Rolo, three pastel Sixlets and sweetened toasted coconut. They’re one treat you need to make.

Mini Birds Nests
Ingredients
• Round pretzels
• Rolo chocolate candies
• pastel colored Sixlets (I bought them at the dollar store)
• Sweetened coconut, toasted 
Directions
1. Preheat over to 250 degrees.
2. Place pretzels in a single layer on a parchment or Silpat lined cookie sheet.
3. Place a Rolo in the center of each pretzel. Bake for 3-5 minutes gently press to see if it’s soft.
4. Remove from the oven and push the chocolate down with your finger, gently press three Sixlets candies into the center of each melted Rolo. 
5. Gently place toasted coconut around the edges of the melted Rolo.
6. Place the nest in the freezer for five minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Carefully remove pretzels and store in an airtight container and enjoy!
