Zoya PixieDust Fall 2013

Matte, texture and sparkle the perfect combination for fall. Zoya PixieDust returns for fall with six new fabulous shades. PixieDust does not require a base or topcoat. Five Things

{Summer pup}

This week has been a complete scorcher which means I took every opportunity to spend the day on the beach, and hope to spend the weekend doing the same. What are your weekend plans?

Step 1: Start with your base color and polish on two coats.

Step 2: Once your nails have dried add your second polish choice to Saran Wrap.

Step 3: Dab on your nails and repeat with a second or third color. Allow to dry before adding a topcoat.

Georgia Peach

The warm weather has me craving something frozen to drink by midday and my current go-to is a copycat version of the Cheesecake Factory’s Georgia Peach drink. To make: Combine 2 ounces vodka, 1 ounce peach liqueur, ½ cup peach slices (fresh or frozen) and ½ cup crushed ice in a blender. Add ¼ cup raspberry juice (I squeezed raspberries in cheesecloth) and blend briefly. Pour into two glasses garnish with a mint leaf, raspberry or peach slice and enjoy. Of course since I don’t drink I followed the same recipe but left out the alcohol and added water as well as extra raspberry juice.

Blissful State of Summer

{Afternoons at the beach require cute totes like this one from Nantucket Brand}

Despite the fact that summer officially arrived weeks ago the weather here has been less than perfect. That is until this past week when temperatures outside started holding steady at an uncomfortable temperature. Leaving my weekend filled with beach days, dune hikes, bike rides, cherry limeade, fireworks and a trip out on Lake Michigan, leaving me in a blissful state of summer delight.
