Don\’t Mess With Texas…… the OPI collection

OPI has come out with collections such as France, Hong Kong, Swiss…etc. Well OPI has come \”home\” to the USA and has created a timeless Texas Collection. The colors are iconic to images of an American summer.

From the company that brought revolutionary nail textures such as suede, matte and Black Shatter OPI has come out with a new special finish which has a semi-transparent sorbet style. This revolutionary Sorbet Style is featured first in the Texas Collection by OPI which is their Spring/Summer 2011 line. The colors are the perfect lacquers to give fingers and toes a lightly glossed appearance.
The Sorbet lacquers were hard to take a picture of because of their glossed appearance. Below you\’ll find a color wheel that features all of the sorbet shades. This is exactly how they appear. So when picking out a color go by my wheel more than my nail swatches.

Y\’all Come Back Ya Hear? is a a tangerine creamsicle shade that is perfect for the spring orange, peach and tangerine trend.

Guy Meets Gal-veston is a watermelon pink and is one of my favorites.

 {Big Hair…Big Nails}

Big Hair…Big Nails is a rosy peach shade. 

{Too Hot Pink to Hold \’Em}
Too Hot Pink to Hold \’Em is a cherry pink and looks gorgeous against a warm skintone.

 {Do You Think I\’m Tex-y?}

Do You Think I\’m Tex-y? is a beautiful raspberry shade. Definitely will get you into wishing summer was here.

 {Houston We Have a Purple}

Houston We Have a Purple is red-violet shade. As soon as I saw it I immediately thought of a juicy plum.

Don\’t Mess with OPI is a foresty grass green. Here it is in the sun you get a lighter green however in the house under regular light you get more of a forest grass green as seen in the color wheel above.

Suzi Loves Cowboys is a beautiful chocolate brown. Definitely reminds me of campfire s\’mores.

 
 {San Tan-tonio}
San Tan-tonio is a sandy honey color wear this on your toes and it\’ll definitely blend in with the sand.

Got a secret can you keep it? The Official Pretty Little Liars Bracelet

As you may know I am completely hooked on ABC Family\’s show Pretty Little Liars.  If you have never seen Pretty Little Liars before it has a mystery aspect to it more intense than Desperate Housewives and the drama and fashion of our beloved show Gossip Girl.


Pretty Little Liars was is originally a book that was made into a tv series.  and it revolves around five best friends…. Alison, Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer. The main story behind PLL is during a sleepover in the woods, the groups queen Alison mysteriously disappears, and her body isn\’t discovered until a year later. Around the time of the discovery the remaining girls begin to receive mysterious messages from \”A\” and the messages contain secrets that Alison would know or ones as if someone is always with the girls.


So let\’s talk about the main reason you\’re reading this post and that is

the Purple Friendship Bracelet that each girl wears. 



Each PLL bracelet is hand woven with special beading thread and needle, and takes over a THOUSAND (1,000) tiny little Japanese beads. Alison\’s work is tedious and precise she is definitely a perfectionist and each bracelet takes her OVER four hours to create.
 
 Alison doesn\’t just create the bracelets for PLL fans in the Us and Canada but girls all over the world buy the bracelet from her. Alison also told me that she gets anywhere from 1 to 15 bracelets ordered by one person. The bracelets are a symbol of the closeness of girlfriends.


What\’s the most popular color? Of course the Pretty Little Liars Purple and the second most popular is hot pink.  However you can get the bracelets in any color, name/wording you\’d like.


 While time-wise the bracelets are definitely worth more than Alison charges, she keeps them affordable so she can cater to the younger crowd as well.

I may be 24, but I love Pretty Little Liars and had to get a bracelet of my own. Alison\’s beading is absolutely flawless. Bracelets take between 4 -10 weeks to be created… but they are definitely worth the wait. Here is mine.

Ahoy Matey! China Glaze Anchors Away

China Glaze created a nautical themed collection for Spring 2011 called Anchors Away. Growing up in Michigan no matter where you were located within SIX MILES you could reach a body of water. Many days were spent beach side getting my tan on.

When I went away to collection spring, summer, winter, fall, rain, snow or shine the days were spent walking along the Lake Superior shoreline. That\’s why the minute I heard that China Glaze had a collection out called Anchors Away I was instantly excited.
 
The collection is divided into two groups.
• Sand & Sea is a six piece soft and intimate colors of Anchors Away
• Knotty Nauticals which is the bold side of the collection.

Sand & Sea

Sunset Sail is a nude peachy beige with a cream base. I have always loved walking along the shoreline collecting shells so as soon as I polished my nails in this color I immediately thought of the inside of a conch shell. Very gorgeous.

 {Pelican Gray}

Pelican Gray is a gorgeous cool gray with a touch of blue. While taupe is a popular color still I think this color is a great alternative.

Sea Spray is a beautiful gray blue cream with a hint of pearl. This color is not your typical \”spring pastel\” however it\’s absolutely beautiful and I will be wearing often. The color kind of reminds me of the ice heaves that build up in the winter on Lake Superior.

Below Deck is a gray purple cream taupe. From the bottle to my nails this color is absolutely gorgeous.

Knotty is a semi-sheer glassy champagne beige. It definitely reminds me of the beach of Lake Superior. This color is perfect for layering or for a new twist on nude polish.

White Cap is a sheer white based glassy polish with flecks of gold. This color is extremely sheer which makes it best for layering. However when polished on my nails I did think of a white cap which immeditely made me think layering creme colors such as tan, navy or orange would look gorgeous. Also mixing White Cap with a cool shade would look beautiful as well.

Ahoy! is a raspberry pink that contains subtle ruby and gold flecks of sparkle. 

{First Mate}

First Mate is rich and fabulous navy blue cream. This is the perfect Fourth of July Americana blue.

{Hey Sailor} 

Hey Sailor is a red cream that definitely creams the Fourth of July. Paired with First Mate you have a match made in heaven.

 {Starboard}

Starboard is a grass green cream.

Life Preserver is the perfect rusted orange cream exactly like the color of a life preserver that you would find hanging on a break wall that the sun has kissed.

Lighthouse is a bright sunshine yellow that contains flecks of gold. The color is very rich and extremely vibrant. Traditionally lighthouse\’s were used to help boats find their way to shore. Well this nail color will definitely help draw some serious attention.
