Dog Running Pictures

Does anyone else crack up when they see pictures of dogs running? This past weekend I had so much fun taking pictures of Jack running. His hair blowing in the wind, the crazy facial expressions – seriously dog running pictures are my favorite. Some of the pictures I took were absolutely crazy, while others were crazy adorable. I think the neighbors thought I was nuts with how many times I made Jack wait, and then had him race to me so I could get the cutest captures possible. Have you ever taken pictures of your dog running?

56th Annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show

Metro Detroit marks your calendars – the 56th Annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show will be held on October 11 and October 12, 2019. I bet you didn\’t know that one of America\’s longest-running charitable antique shows is annually held right here in metro Detroit. The Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show offers an incredible assortment of historical and vintage treasures for sale by 35 highly respected dealers who come from around the country to participate in this show. All proceeds to benefit Oakland HOPE and Grace Centers of Hope.
The 56th Annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show will once again amaze and astound visitors as it opens its doors to the public on Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12 at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church located at 1100 Lone Pine Road (at Telegraph Road), in Bloomfield Hills.  The hours of this year’s show are 10 AM – 6 PM on Friday, and 9 AM – 4 PM on Saturday.

The local charities selected this year to receive all proceeds collected through the event are Oakland HOPE and Grace Centers of Hope.  To date, the Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show has raised more than $625,000 for metro Detroit charities through ticket sales, dealer booth fees, food sales, a Silent Auction, and other activities at the show.

To earn even more revenue for this year’s benefiting charities, show organizers have printed notecards of the awe-inspiring murals that adorn Cross of Christ Lutheran Church’s Light Center. The murals are original designs by local artist Matt LeBarre.  The notecards will be sold exclusively at the 56th Annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show. They are packaged in boxes of 10 cards featuring five different images for $10.

“The primary mission of the Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show has always been to support local charities and connect with our community,” said Marilyn Nix, general show chairman.  “However after half a century, our little show has grown significantly in both size and reputation, and we are now very proud to be a major, not-to-be-missed event on the local antiques show circuit.”
Show Highlights
Thirty-five highly esteemed dealers from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Virginia will sell an extensive variety of pieces from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.  Antique and estate jewelry, china, glassware, linens, pottery, furniture, vintage clothing and purses, porcelain, silver, quilts, cut glass, paintings, music boxes, art glass, ceramics, crystal, brass, copper, jade statues, bronzes, figurines, books and more!  A complete list of participating dealers can be found at  www.bloomfieldcross.org/antiqueshow.

Back by popular demand, the fine art auctioneers from DuMouchelles will be conducting appraisals at the 56th Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show.  So if you think that dusty old family heirloom might have historical and/or financial value, bring it to the show on Saturday, Oct. 12 when appraisals will be performed from 10 AM – 1 PM.  The cost is $10 per item with a limit of three items per person.  Proceeds will benefit this year’s two special charities.

Also, new this year, the show’s Silent Auction has been expanded to include furniture.  An eclectic mix of antiques and collectibles donated by show dealers and individuals will be on the auction block at the 56th Annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show.  One very special item up for bid is a beautiful floral painting by Meta Grimm Lacey (1886-1976), a granddaughter of the Brothers Grimm of fairy tale fame.  The work is being donated by Ed Bentley of E. Patrick Gallery, in Greenville, Michigan.  It is 24” by 20” and has a value between $200 and $400. Bidding will begin at 10 AM on Friday, Oct. 11 and close at 3 PM on Saturday, Oct. 12.  Winners will be notified by telephone and full payment is expected when the item is picked up.

About the Show & Benefiting Charities
The annual Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show is a benefit event of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and was first held in 1963 to raise money for the purchase of new choir robes. The show was a huge success, so the church continued to host it but chose to donate all proceeds to local charities. The Bloomfield Charity Antiques and Collectibles Show has always been run entirely by volunteers.  Today it is one of the country’s longest-running antique shows with all net proceeds going to charity.
