During our recent girls’ weekend getaway, we made sure to visit some of the city’s most iconic spots that truly define Detroit’s unique charm and culture. From the Joe Louis Fist to the Spirit of Detroit, here’s a recap of our favorite stops around the Motor City!

Our girls’ weekend kicked off with a visit to the iconic Joe Louis Fist. This enormous, powerful sculpture is located in downtown Detroit and stands as a tribute to the legendary boxer Joe Louis, whose career put Detroit on the map as a sports powerhouse. Known as the “Fist of Detroit,” this landmark is a must-see for any visitor to the city.

After taking in the Joe Louis Fist, we headed over to the Detroit Riverfront for a relaxing stroll along the water. With stunning views of both Detroit and Windsor, Canada, it’s the perfect spot for a photo op. We couldn’t resist waving hello to our neighbors across the river as we marveled at the beauty of the waterfront.
The Detroit Riverwalk offers plenty of outdoor activities, scenic views, and a peaceful escape from the city hustle. Whether you’re walking, biking, or simply enjoying the view, it’s an ideal location for a quick break during your Detroit adventure.

Of course, we couldn’t visit Detroit without attending a Detroit Pistons game at Little Caesars Arena! The excitement of being at an NBA game was incredible—cheering for our team, enjoying the high-energy atmosphere, and seeing the action up close was an experience none of us will forget.

As sports lovers, we couldn’t leave Detroit without stopping by Comerica Park to check out the iconic Tiger statue outside the ballpark. Known as one of the most recognizable landmarks in Detroit, the enormous tiger statue is a beloved symbol of the city’s history and love for baseball.
Even if you’re not attending a game, taking a moment to snap a photo with the tiger is a must. It’s a fun and lighthearted way to immerse yourself in Detroit’s sports culture and a great photo op with friends.
